During his speech, Dr Esosa gave us insights on how to cope in medical school:
- Put God first in your studies in order to succeed because God is the Author of Success
- Believe in yourself that you shall excel
- Spend between 3-5 hours everyday studying
- "No relationship will keep you at a place; it either takes you up or pull you down". Make friends that will help you academically

Dr. Magnus Anyakodo while talking also gave us some tips on excellence:
- Get yourself settled
- "Minus God in your life, you are done", that is, always put God first in everything you do
- Do not compare yourself with others
- Prayer is the key
- Respect your lecturers

Dr. Adejumo in his speech also said, to excel in medical school we should endeavour to:
- Study and gain new knowledge everyday
- Form discussion and tutorial groups
- Learn to recall questions
- Reread a topic as many times as possible
- Attend all classes
- Be close to God
- Avoid time wasting events

Dr. Akinyemi Akinsola also gave these tips for success in medical school:
- Understand yourself
- Have a good knowledge of your lecturers
- Note the kind of textbooks recommended by the departments
