UCCF Holiday Diaries 4

So this is an article I wrote a very long  long  time ago, when I was pretty much being prepared by GOD for the journey in future.  Then I used to share the word with certain people on a weekly basis and this was the first one.  I must point out I was still a bit young and therefore not as experienced as I am right now. You’ll see those  inexperienced- patterns in my writing  for this article . You’ll also see certain patterns in this article that I have retained through the years.  I’m sharing this now  be cause I believe there are things to glean from it.  I was  gonna  share something else, but then I decided to go for this one  UNEDITED  as this one rested with my Spirit. Wow. Finally I write to you after such a long battle with my flesh (laziness ooooo). Well PRAISE GODDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!LOL. I am really happy to be finally doing this. It took a while for me to hear from GOD due to my own un-seriousness but today ...

UCCF Holiday Diaries 3

Hello my family. I trust that  this meets you  in a good place. Initially, I intended for this to be a simple  whatsapp  post but then with plenty information to be shovelled out I decided to slam this into our holiday diaries. Now I believe you all have been using the tit bits shared to get through the  hols . I’m most definitely sure it hasn’t been easy at all and for some of you it looks like one mistake too many. But in the end what really counts is the state of your heart.  “Have you given it your all?” Have you given it your best shot? You probably begin to realise you could have done certain things better. You could have made an attempt even if the odds weren’t in your favour. You could have just shared with that person when you got the gentle nudge from the  Hol ySpirit . You could have kept your mouth shut in that situation. You could have just walked away earl ier from that scene rather than  get your hands dirtied in that sin. Never...
Just few weeks ago, I had the chance to come across John 3 vs 3, "Jesus answered him, Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." In that statement, Jesus revealed the most important key to eternal life. He even  made it extremely clear.. he said, "truly, truly"! Jesus used those words to place great emphasis on very important facts.  To start with.. In the context, I realized Pharisees were the most religious set of all Israelites, in fact they were teachers of t h e law. I then wondered within myself.. But Nicodemus was a Pharisee now, why did Jesus tell him all these? Okay, back to John 3:3, Jesus was telling Nicodemus, despite how religious (and probably moral) he was that unless a person is born again, he can not  see the kingdom of God. Wow! Jesus meant business! Okay, now I thought, this seems quite interesting.. Jesus was 100% clear, There is no plan B, no shortcut at all. Jesus didn't say "might not...

UCCF Holiday Diaries 2

Hello people of GOD. So I made the lon g trip from Festac (Lagos) to Ondo first thing on Thursday and that marked the end of a very short stint at home. Back to the beautiful place that is called NIEPA...and Mama Ifaka’s bread , and Porter  Gbenga  and his bullets (Please don’t ever tell him I typed this. Let this be our little secret….winks….)  I can’t say I achieved much other than eating lots of chicken and beef. You begin to wonder why GOD didn’t make eating meat a way to edify “the hidden man of our hearts”. Just think about it for a second. We would have run Satan out of business by now. Instead of praying in tongues why can’t I just eat meat???Atherosclerosis  answers my spirit.  Sad. And now I know my dream of eating meat to edification can never come to reality, one thing I  still  know that can come to pass is seeing you all fulfilling destiny.  We talked about having definite plans and structures for how our holiday pans out with Jes...

UCCF Holiday Diaries 1

Hello friends….How are you all enjoying the last opportunity at living a normal life????(I kid…I kid….). I’m sure  your holiday   has  been stockpiled and pressed down with lots of “ Seun  go and wash the car.” and “Jerry g o and wash the toilet”, shaken together with “ Dr.  Marvellous, please I haven’t eaten since yesterday afternoon and I’m hungry, please what is wrong with me?” and running over with BOREDOM! Well, what really did you expect? You see the first, hardest and earliest lesson I  learnt in  University wa s that the perfect holiday doesn’t exist.  You have to work hard to earn it and that in itself isn’t a holiday anymore.  Anyways, enough of my classic trolling.  Let’s talk business. So  it’s  now well over a week since the holidays began. A lot was said over the course of our last two services (the Sunday service pr oper and the praise night ) and I know most of us have done virtually NONE of them. It really ta...

The Ultimate Sacrifice

QUESTION : How was Jesus the ultimate sacrifice? ANSWER : The Bible declares Jesus to be the ultimate sacrifice for many reasons: Jesus is sinless, holy, and divine. He is described as a lamb without spot or wrinkle in 1 Peter 1:19: “…the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.” Jesus was chosen from the beginning of time to be the ultimate sacrifice for the sins of mankind. No one else was qualified to save the world! Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice, because He restored the pathway for humanity to come back to God . In John 14:6 Jesus says, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Jesus was tempted in every way, but He did not succumb to temptation and sin.Hebrews 4:15 says, “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are – yet was without sin.” Jesus was God’s ultimate plan for redemption. Isaiah 53 describes...

When I Say I’m A Christian

When I say I am a Christian… I’m not shouting I’ve been saved I’m whispering I get lost at times That’s why I chose this way. When I say I am a Christian I’m don’t speak with human pride I’m confessing that I stumble Needing God to be my guide. When I say I am a Christian I’m not trying to be strong I’m professing that I’m weak And praying for strength to carry on. When I say I am a Christian I’m not bragging of success I’m admitting that I’ve failed And cannot ever pay the debt. When I say I am a Christian I don’t think I know it all I submit to my confusion Asking humbly to be taught. When I say I am a Christian I’m not claiming to be perfect My flaws are all too visible But God believes I’m worth it. When I say I am a Christian I still feel the sting of pain I have my share of heartache That’s why I seek God’s name. When I say I am a Christian I do not wish to judge I have no authority… I only know I’m loved. By:...

RIGHTEOUSNESS; YOUR PASSPORT TO HEAVEN

“Adeboye can never go to hellfire!” “Olukoya go still dey preach for heaven. He is just too righteous”. “If Babalola no reach heaven, then e done be for us ooooo!”……sound familiar? These exclamations used to input so much fear into me then. Now, they just make me laugh. “He fasts 7days a week. Prays in tongues for 10hours a day, I wish my heaven was as sure as his”. Pardon me to write a big fat LOL. First off, Righteousness means “Right standing with GOD.” From these statements, one would think what qualifies we Christians to go into heaven is our works. Some will even have you believe that if you don’t read the bible back-to-back you can’t enter heaven. Some say a Christian who constantly sins, irrespective of whether they are trying to change or not have first class tickets to hellfire. Well, I guess they are right. After all the bible did say in reference to Abraham“(Gen 15:6) And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness. KJV” GAME OVER! END...
