Sunday service 26/03/2017

After a week of activities and Saturday's powerful and successful prayer meeting, the fellowship finally moved to Odosida and this Sunday's service was just out of this world.
It will be an offense to not mention The Sweet Symphonies' hybrid (traditional + English) and wonderful praise-carrying ministration, the Playpreachers' hilarious & corrective drama and most importantly the Holy Spirit's presence in our midst.
The sermon titled Righteousness of God was taken by the one and only UCCF President, Brother Valentine and this was his message:
Righteousness of God
What is righteousness? 
      Righteousness can be simply put as right standing with God. It is not a thing that can be achieved or attained rather, it is a gift from God just like the gift of speaking in tongues. It is not gotten by doing good works (Romans 3:20) neither is it lost by NOT doing good deeds. Also, a man's righteousness is not judged by the law of this world because righteousness is above the law. But, because you are righteous and not judged by the law of this world doesn't mean you are allowed to go on transgressing against the law (1 Peter 2:16). Transgression against the law is sin (1 John 3:4-9) and as the Bible tells us in verses 8 and 9, he that sins is the devil's because no child of God should sin.
Truly, doing good deeds carry blessings but it doesn't determine righteousness. Righteousness is a work of faith. There is only one level of righteousness. Faith on the other hand can vary and since the way God responds to your prayers is a product of your Faith and Righteousness, faith determines what you get. Praise God


God gave us a message and a warning through the week:
God's message- I have established a covenant with UCCF and now it is your turn
WARNING!!!- Be careful what you say, eat and where you go.

UCCF Holiday Diaries 2

Hello people of GOD. So I made the lon g trip from Festac (Lagos) to Ondo first thing on Thursday and that marked the end of a very short stint at home. Back to the beautiful place that is called NIEPA...and Mama Ifaka’s bread , and Porter  Gbenga  and his bullets (Please don’t ever tell him I typed this. Let this be our little secret….winks….)  I can’t say I achieved much other than eating lots of chicken and beef. You begin to wonder why GOD didn’t make eating meat a way to edify “the hidden man of our hearts”. Just think about it for a second. We would have run Satan out of business by now. Instead of praying in tongues why can’t I just eat meat???Atherosclerosis  answers my spirit.  Sad.
