Effective prayer life of a new man in Christ

As a good Christian, there is a particular way of prayers to follow so as to get quick response from God. A very good example of this lifestyle is our Lord Jesus Christ.

Pattern of Jesus Christ's prayer life:

  • He always ensured that his prayers were aligned with God's will for Him at all times. 
  • He always prayed in solitude . Not for people to notice His prayer but for God to hear Him.
  • He prayed in oneness with God and God was with Him (John 16:32, Acts 10:38)
  • He was persistent and consistent
  • He trusted in God (Luke 23:46)
  • He had confidence and kept His faith(John 6:27; 14:30)
Other instructions for an effective prayer life are:
  1. Ensure to lay down your heart desires while praying (Matthew 21:22)
  2. Act according to God's word
  3. Pray in the Spirit: The Spirit of God is a free gift to everyone in Christ and desiring it (Joel 2:28).
Importance of praying in the Spirit (tongues):
  • Edification of one's spirit (1Corinthians 14:4)
  • To help us pray and pray about mysteries
  • It acts as a gateway to the gift of the Spirit (1Corinthians 2:6-12)
  • It makes following the will of God easier
Constant usage of tongues brings about it's mastery. Also, praying in tongues long enough is the fastest way to get things from God.

UCCF Holiday Diaries 2

Hello people of GOD. So I made the lon g trip from Festac (Lagos) to Ondo first thing on Thursday and that marked the end of a very short stint at home. Back to the beautiful place that is called NIEPA...and Mama Ifaka’s bread , and Porter  Gbenga  and his bullets (Please don’t ever tell him I typed this. Let this be our little secret….winks….)  I can’t say I achieved much other than eating lots of chicken and beef. You begin to wonder why GOD didn’t make eating meat a way to edify “the hidden man of our hearts”. Just think about it for a second. We would have run Satan out of business by now. Instead of praying in tongues why can’t I just eat meat???Atherosclerosis  answers my spirit.  Sad.
