INTRODUCTION
Many times as Christians, we tend to forget that Christ will come the second time. It takes more than repentance to overcome problems of life. That you have repented does not mean the devil cannot do stuffs to you, what you need is Knowledge John6:63. Therefore anything can happen to you depending on what you know about Christ and your stand in Christ. Beyond this, you shouldn't forget that he is coming again.
The Breastplate of Righteousness; faith & love (1Thess5:8,Eph6:14)
Our righteousness is of FAITH and LOVE not of works. "Righteousness produces right living but right living never produces righteousness". You are righteous not because of the things you are not doing but the faith you have in the son of God;Jesus Christ (Rom4). Abraham was righteous because of his FAITH in God.
Righteousness is what made God God and it doesn't produce sin. So if God wasn't righteous, he won't be able to do all he does.
2Cor 5:17-21
If you are the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus, don't you think you should be able to do all He does?. Never let anyone talk you out of your righteousness because of your mistakes, remember Rom6:1, but you must understand that your righteousness is tied to your faith in God.
> "God is the Justifier of our righteousness that we may be just". Meaning that; if God does not justify our righteousness we cannot be just. So, you can't justify your righteousness neither can anyone do that for you.
> In Christ, you cannot stop sinning by wanting to stop sinning. Rom8:13- The only way to live above sin is through the spirit. Remember sin does not comes from your will(mind), sin is a spirit(a nature).
Sins trys to tell you that you can't do away with it(sin); if you try doing that by your willpower, I tell you within 2-3 months you are back into it again. The spirit of God will tell you "I have something better than that life of sin you are living" Gal5. So, "Stop trying to stop sinning by trying to stop sinning and start trying to live and walk in the spirit" then you will stop sinning.
Convict in love, don't Condemn (1Thess5:8 & Gal6:1)
We are not to condemn people around us but convict them; because the anger of a man does not work the righteousness of God (James1:19). Do not make people sorry but make them sorrow to repentance which worketh salvation (2Chor7:8-10). Anything after Godly sorrow is condemnation of Satan.
Rejoice Evermore (1Thess5:16)
Joy is not an emotion but a fruit of the spirit that has to be manifest. Joy is an amplifier likewise sorrow is, be careful of the state your heart is in Phill4:4-6, Psalm16:11. You need confidence towards God not condemnation 1Jhn3:20-21, you need joy not sorrow. You cannot reap in the state of sorrow but with joy (Psalms126:5).
>1Thess5:20 Despise no prophecy but prove all things and hold fast to that which is good.
Abstain from appearance of Evil(1Thess5:22)
Are you addicted to a particular sin?, all you need is to abstain from it appearance. Joseph was an anointed man but didn't say he could handle the temptation of Potiphar's wife, rather he ran. So don't wait there , run. The spirit of God will always tell you when things are about to go wrong.
Finally, Quench not the Spirit 1Thess5vs19 the spirit of God works in us according to the proportions we let him work in us. The same spirit of God in Jesus is the same spirit in us Rom8:11. But then, why are there differences in our operations? It's because some allowed the spirit of God to work more in then.
>So, you need to listen to the spirit, pray in tongues and in understanding, pray without ceasing 1Thess5:16 and don't have a season for your prayers. Pray all the time ; that's how you get the spirit of God at work in you then believe that he is working in you.
N.B ; You will not get any result thinking that there is a power somewhere to work for you. Believe that the power of God is at work in you by the Holy Spirit. Gal3:1-5
